Item/Subject: RESOLVE, Appropriating Federal and Loral Funds for the purchase of
Bicycle Racks far The Bus
Responsible Department: Executive
Commentary:
This Resolve would appropriate Federal and Local Funds for the purrhase of nine bicycle rads
for The Bus. Presently, five busses in the fleet have bicycle racks installed. The availability of
the racks has proven to be very popular with customers and this purchase would out it the
remaining busses in the Beet. The Federal share of the project (80%) will come from existing
grant funds while the lash share of the project (20%) will come from either established reserve
funds or from a direct charge. The Maine Department of Transportation, who administers these
grant funds for the Federal Government, has reviewed and approved the proposed project
