HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-08-23 99-284 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 99-286 Date August 23, 1999 Item/Subject: Authorizing Execution of Municipal Quitclaim Deed -- Real Estate Located at 30 Highland Avenue Responsible Department: Legal fewer liens recorded in 1999 and 1996 on property located at 20 Highland Avenue and assessed against Kenneth W. Putnam matured. Mr. Putnam entered intoa workout agreement with the City, which has now been completed. Mr. Putnam is now asking that the property be quitclaimed back to him. Because the sewer liens have matured, Council approval is necessary to release the City's interest in the property. There are no code issues with the property, and the real estate tax account is current. Heller, Finance Director, is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute a Municipal Quitclaim Deed releasing any interest the City may have in the real estate located at 20 Highland Avenue in said Bangor by virtue of matured municipal sewer charge liens recorded in Book 5643, Pages 211 through 214; Book 6085, Page 266; and Book 6222, Page 178, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. Said deed shall be directed to Kenneth W. Putnam, a copy of which is attached hereto. Councilman 99-286 MONICIPAL QUITCLAIM DEED The CITY OF BANGOR, a municipal corporation located i Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantor, for consideration paid, releases to KENNETH W. PUTWAM, of Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantees, a certain lot or parcel of land with the buildings thereon, situate in the City of Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, more particularly described as follows, viz. Real estate located at 20 Highland Avenue i said Bangor, and further described in a deed recorded in Vclume 3788, Page 142, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. Designated further in City cords as Assessor's Map 32, Lot 69, real estate account number 77819. Any and all other rights, easements, privileges and appurtenances belonging to the granted estate are hereby conveyed. The purpose of this deed is to release to the Grantee any interest the Grantor may have in the above described property by virtue of matured sewer liens assessed against Kenneth W. Putnam and recorded in Book 5643, Pages 211 through 214; Book 6085, Page 266; Rod Book 6222, Page 178, Penobscot Registry of Deeds. All public easements or other public interests in the described premises for roads, sewers, or other purposes are expressly reserved. The said CITY OF BANGOR has caused this instrument to be Baled with its corporate seal, and signed in its corporate name by RONALD I.
