And, I'm sure that many municipalities and organizations are still dealing with the results of damage done to tees on public property. To help you with purchasing and planting replacement trees and /or pruning, Oakhurst Davy and the Maine Forest Service have teamed up to secure additional dollars to extend the Oakhurst Tree ReLeaf program. Maine qualified for federal matching funds due to the investment ($91,500 in Maine) by a private company (Oakhurst Dairy). Leveraging Oakhurst money which has already been invested in Tree ReLeaf has resulted in an additional $274500 available for use in Maine. If your organization participated in the original Tree ReLeaf program and would like to apply for additional Tree ReLea£ dollars, you most agree to and meet the following conditions: 1) Money will be spent only to alleviate damage to trees caused by the January 1S$$ ice storm on public property. 2) Money will be spent to purchase & plant new tees and/or to prune damaged trees (including labor); 3) Eligible municipalities and organizations must be responsible for initial costs and provide proof of expenditures (receipts, payroll records, cancelled checks, etc.) in order to be reimbursed. No funds will be dispensed in advance of purchases. 4) To ensure your reimbursement, we require a description of what you plan' to do and estimated costs; we will notify you immediately as to whether or not you will receive funding.
