MINUTES
Councilors Present; Baldacci, Faircloth, Tremble, Nichols, Sprague, and Perry.
Staff Present;Michael Crooker, Cathy Conlow, Tracy Willette, Patti Hamilton and
Thomas Higgins.
Others Attending;Andy Rudzinski, and Kathy Hardy
Councilor Nichols opened the meeting at 5:15 PM
1.Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Apply for a Drug Free Communities Grant
from the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Councilor Tremble moved. Seconded by Councilor Sprague. Unanimously approved.
2.Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Apply for a Drug Free Communities
Mentoring Grant from the Federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration.
Councilor Sprague moved. Seconded by Councilor Tremble. Unanimously approved.
3.Discussion of the installation of a webcam for remote viewing of the mouth of the
Kenduskeag Stream and the Penobscot River by the United States Coast Guard
(USCG).
Councilor Sprague movedstaff recommendation. Seconded by Councilor Tremble.
Councilor Baldacci asked Chief Higgins what the Camera would show. Chief Higgins
indicated that the camera is proposed to beinstalled on parking garage. It will show
ice and water conditions at the end of theKenduskeag and the Penobscot River. It is
intended to be accessed by the public as well.
MotionUnanimously approved.
4.Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Agreement between the City of
Bangor (the "City") and Townsquare Media ("TOWNSQUARE") and HC Bangor, LLC
("HCB") –Bass Park Infield, Track, and Grandstand.
Town Square Media would like to host a New England Rib Fest and Music Event. A
draft agreement that includes standardlanguage for such events including curfew
language has been prepared for the Committee’s review. Councilors asked if there
was going to be any problem with the Great Maine Barbeque and the New England
RibFest being held on back to back weekends. Tracy Willette indicated no problem.
Councilor Baldacci asked if the organizers of the Great Maine Barbeque Event have
been notified about the New England RibFest. Tracy Willette indicated they have
been contacted and there were no objections.
Councilor Tremble motioned to approve. Seconded by Councilor Sprague.
Unanimously Approved.
Councilor Nichols motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Councilor Sprague.
Adjourned @5:20 PM.
