Responsible Department: Airport Commentary: This Order authorizes the City Manager to execute a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Bangor International Airport and the Maine Troop Greeters. The Troop Greeters are developing a museum located at the airport to help create a place of healing and remembrance for all who visit. The Maine Troop Greeters will preserve thousands of items of memorabilia resulting from the greeting experiences shared by the Troops and Greeters. This MOU outlines the responsibilities and obligations of the Parties for this museum. If approved, this MOU allows for the building and maintenance of the museum located at Bangor International Airport. This MOU will be in final form as approved by City Legal. This item was reviewed and approved by the Airport Committee at its meeting on April 11, 2017. ORDER, Authorizing the City Manager to execute a memorandum of understanding between the City of Bangor/Airport Department and the Maine Troop Greeters. WHEREAS, The City of Bangor is the owner of the Bangor International Airport; and WHEREAS, The Maine Troop Greeters are developing a museum located at the airport to help create a place of healing and remembrance for all who visit; and WHEREAS, The Maine Troop Greeters will preserve thousands of items of memorabilia resulting from the greeting experiences shared by the Troops and Greeters; and WHEREAS, The City and the Maine Troop Greeters agree to a memorandum of understanding outlining the responsibilities and obligations of the building and maintenance of the museum at Bangor International Airport. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, That Catherine M. Conlow, City Manager, is hereby authorized on behalf of the City of Bangor to execute a memorandum of understanding between the City of Bangor/Airport Department and the Maine Troop Greeters.
