§ 180-1. Adoption of code.
In accordance with 30-A M.R.S.A. § 3003, the International
Mechanical Code 2000 published by the International Code Council, Inc., is hereby adopted and
incorporated by reference as the standard for the design, installation and maintenance of all
mechanical systems in the City of Bangor, including heating systems, ventilating systems, cooling
systems, steam and hot water heating systems, process piping, boilers and pressure vessels,
appliances utilizing gas, liquid or said fuel, chimneys add vents, mechanical refrigeration systems,
Fireplaces, barbecues, crematories, fire protection systems and air pollution control systems.
§ 180-2. Amendments.
Sald Mechanical Code is adopted in its published farm as if fully set forth herein, except as follows:
A. Section 101.1 is amended to read as follow:
101.1 Titre. This code shall be known as the "Mechanical Code of the Coy of Bangor;' hereinafter
defamed to as the "Mechanical Code" or'Yhis code."
B. Section 103.1 Is deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following:
103.1 General. The Cade Enforcement Mcer shall be designated the code official far the purposes
of this code.
C. Section 103.2 is deleted in as entirety.
D. Section 106.5.2 is amended to read as follows:
106.5.2 Fee schedule. The fees for all mechanical work shall be as indicated in Chapter 109, Article
1 of the Code of the City of Bangor.
E. Section 108.4 is deleted in as entirety and replaced with the following:
108.4 Civil penalties. The requirements of 30-A M.R.S.A. § 4452 shall apply t0 the determination of
penalties for violations of this code. The minimum penalty for a specific violation of this code shall
be $100 and the maximum penalty shall be $2,500; provided, however, that the maldmum penalty
may exceed $2,500 but shall not exceed $25,000 when It can be shown Mat there has been a

previous cmwiction of the same parry within the past two years for violation of the same code
provision.
F. Section 109 is deleted in its entirely and replaced with the fallowing:
109 Appeals. An appeal may be taken from arty order, decision or other action of the code official
to the Board of Appeals (hereinafter called the "Board") established by Chapter 2 , Article I of the
Code of the CM of Ranger. The matter shall be heard by the Board in accordance won the
procedures set out In Chapter 81, Building Code, of the Code of the City of Bangarieetlew .
