§291-90 (G) of the Cade of the City of Bangor protides for residential padting permits for portions
of certain streets. R is scheduled to sunset an November 1, 2000. The Council recently added a porton
of French Street m the ordinance with the Intent that it sunset on November 1, 2001. Hence the need for
an amendment to the ordinance. The other streets are not included in the amendment because It was
intended drat the residential parking provision for Nem sunset this year. The amendment also eliminates
Schedule W and IIst9 Me affected streets in the ordinance rather than in a schedule. This will make
future amendments to the ordinance easier.

(TITLE.) Ordinance, Amending Code of the City of Bangor 4 291-90(G) -- Resident Parking

Chapter 29140, Ardde III of the Code of the City of Bangor is hereby amended by deleting
the existing Subsection G and replacing it with the following:
G. Resident parking by permit only. Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on
normal business days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, to stop, stand
or park any vehicle, other than a vehicle displaying a valid neighborhood resident
parking permit Issued by the Police Chief under regulations to be prescribed by Council
Order, on txmse streets or portions of sheets duly posted and which are described or
specified in this Subsection G, subject: to the prvisiOns of this Amcle III.
(1) Service and dellwry vehicles excepted. Nonresident vehicles stopped, standing
or parked for the purpose of making deliveries or prwding services to a
residence located on a street or portion of a street described or specified In this
Subsedlon G shall not be required to display the permit otherwise required by
this Subsection G. Such vehicles must be stopped, standing or parked within 200
feet of the residence concerned, as measured along the road frontage, for this
exception to apply.
(2) The following streets or portions of streets shall be residential parking by permit
only until the stated date:
a. French Street on both sides of French Street in the dock between
Cumberland Street and Garland Street until November 1, 2001.
