Engineering Commentary: Recently we have received a request from Schofield, Inc. to discontinue portions of Bennett Street and Hildreth Street, which have never been constructed. Schofield is proposing to develop a 14 -acre parcel at the end of the accepted portion of Hildreth Street. The parcel is bordered north and east by the unbuilt portions of HBdreth and Bennett These portions are not necessary for public need or to access other parcels. Upon discontinuance, land occupied by the proposed street would revert to abutters and become taxable. The attached council order represents the that step in the discontinuance process prescribed by state statutes. A sketch and memo from the City Solicitor regarding this issue is attached. O Parncaw Head Manager's Comments: This proposal has been reviewed and recommended by the Municipal Operations Committee.
