Commentary:
This Resolve would appropriate funds for the purchase of three two place wheelchair
restraints for City of Bangor busses. Funding for the project is available from Federal Gram
money (80%) and Bangor Bus operating accounts (20%) far FY00. The total cast of the
restraints Is $9,000, to be paid for by federal funds ($7,200) and local funds ($1,800). The
new two chair restraints replace single chair restraints which are d08ovlt to use, time
consuming and allow only one wheelchair to use the Bus at a time./ /

THAT
WHEREAS, The Bus Is In need of six wheelftlr restraints for the Oty of Bangor
Busses; and
WHEREAS, total funding for this purchase was rpt Included within the Annual
Appropriation Resolve but is available through federal funds administered
by the Maine Department of Transportation and morMas contributed by the
City of Bangor on the basis of 80% federal and 20% local share; and
WHEREAS, The Maine Department of Transportation has approved use of federal
funds for this purchase through grant ME -90X105, ME90XO99 and
ME90XG92 and the Oty of Bangor share will be provided through its
Annual Appropriation to the Bus.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT
An appropradon of $9,000 is hereby approved for the purchase of three
two place wheelchair restraints to be funded from the following revenue
sources: Maine Department of Transportation Gram ME -90-X105, MEX099
and ME90XG92 totaling $7,200 and the City of Bangoes contribution of
$1,800; and
The Finance Director shall establish such accounts as are required to
properly record the transactions for this purchase.
