Agreement Between the City of Bangor and the Paderation of Nurses and Health
Professionals, Local 5093, Representing Certain Employees at Bangor City Nursing Facility
Responsible Department;
Commentary: tabor negotiations with approodmately %full and part-time employees at BCNF have
resulted In a tentative agreement between the City and Union Negotiating Committees. Covered
employees Include CNA's, cooks, dietary aides, housekeepers, maintenance, staff and laundry workers.
The Union voted to ratify the agreement in a vote held on February 25, 2000.
This Is a successor agreement M the previous 19W%contract beMreen the parties. Negotiated changes
to Me contact include the Miming: 18 month term, $200 stipend for eligible employees year one, 1%
pay increase for the second six months, inclusion of an attendance central policy and conversion of one
part-time housekeeping position to fulltlme. Other major ecorromk items (vacation, slat leave, holidays,
retirement, heats Insurance) will remain the same.
The City Counal has had an opportunity to review the agreement In exeeutive session and the proposed
contact is within established bargaining guidelines. The agreement is presented with the
reoommendedon of the Management Negotiating Committee (Hang Coates and Connie Mngley), and I
recommend as approval as well. _

execute a Collect ve Bargaining Agreement betvreen the City of Bangor and the
Fedetabon of Nurses and Health Professionals, AFT-Malne, AFlLiO, Local 5093,
representing certain employees at Bangor City Nursing Facility for a term of one and
one half (I V2) years commencing July 1, 1999 and ending December 31, 2000.
