Item/Subject. ORDER, Authorizing Second Amendment to Lease with the State of
Maine, Military Bureau
Responsible Department: Legal
On April 14, 1997 by Council Order 92-186, the City Council approved a lease between the Qty of Sargor
and the State of Maine, Military Bureau. The lease provided that the City could terminate it If the Lessee
stripped using the property for aernauhc'ul uses or If the Lessee cid not make the promlsed improvements
W the property within five years.
For the project to move forward, the Federal Government requires that the Maine Attorney General's
Office cemfy that the lease have no conditions or restrictions that would allow the City to terminate the
lease before the end of the lease term.
This Second Amendment removes those early termination provisions.
