Item/Subject: Order - Authorizing the City Manager to accept $119].66 in Funds as part
of the Federal Equitable Sharing program.

On August 11, 2000, agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) arrested Wayne
Smith on illegal drug charges. Immediately following his arrest Mr. Smith developed a medical problem
and was subsequently transported to a Bangor Hospital. Members of the Bangor Police Department
provided assistance by guarding Mr. Smith during dre slaty (60) hours he was hospitalized.
Through an agreement with the MDEA, all assets resulting from this arrest were to be
relinquished to the Bangor Police Department. Although $3789. In currency was seized, the $1197.66
represents all that are Court ordered forfeited in this case.
