HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-04-09 01-184 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 01-184 Date: 9A-01 Item/Subject: Order, Authorizing the Ory Manager to lNearte an Ambulance Billing Services Agreement with the Town of Corinth Responsible Depar[mento Fire Department Commentary: Bangor Fire Department was recently approached by the Tann of Corinth and As Fire Department conceming providing ambulance billing services for that community. Under the proposed Agreement, Bangor Fire would receive $7.50 per ambulance bill processed on an estimated annual all volume of 200 to 250. Bangor Fire currently provides similar services to the Town of Orono. Corinth shall purchase the necessary computer software and Bangor has sufficient staff to handle the additional work. The City Sdidtor's Offlce drafted the proposed Agreement for born communities. WHEREAS, Town of Corinth provides ambulance service m its customers; and WHEREAS, the Bangor City Fire Department bas the capability of billing for ambulance service; and WHEREAS, Town of Corinth desires that Bumper City Fire Department bill Town of Corinth customers for ambalance services on behalf of Town ofCorinth; NOW, TI[EREFORE, it is agreed as follows: TERM This agreement shall be for a term of six months. It may be amounted by either party for any reason upon thirty days written notice. At the expiration of the am, this Agreerrem may be atmded by agreement of the parties for an additional tern of six months under the same ams and conditions as set forth herein. The Bangor City Fire Department shall bill each customer of Town ofCormth tlueetimes. Bangor City Fire Depararent shall be responsible forthe cost offosms, envelopes and postage. RESPONSMII=OF TOWN OF CORINTH Town of Corinth shall purchase billing software from Sweet Soft for the use of Banger City Fire Department during the term of this Agreement Upon the termination of this Agreement Banger City Fire Department shall return said billing software to Town of Corinth. Town of Corinth shall be responsible providing to Burger City Fire Department c erect information regarding its cusmmus. Town of Corinth shall keep and hold harmless Bangor City Fire Department from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, judgments, was and expenses asserted by any person or persons by reason of Town of Corinth's actions hereunder. Town of Corinth shall be responsible for responding to customer inquiries. Town of Corinth shall pay to Bangor City Fire Department the sum of seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) for every ambulance run about submitted to Bangor City Fire Department fm billing.
