The pdice department has been notified that we may be eligible to receive an additional $19,600
In Tunes available through the Juvenile Accountability Block Gram Program. These funds are the result of
a redistrbution of money that was either declined by the applying agency or not approved. The City of
Bangor has already taken advamage of this program and was awarded $30,5]8 in the year 2000. This
money was used to develop the juvenile diversion program known as "Jump Start", which has been
administered by the WCA. A portion of the funds also supported our Police Athletic League. If
approved, this new money would be used ro continue these programs through September 30, 2001. The
program would continue m be administered by the YMCA and the City of Bar:gor's role is that of the fiscal
agent There is a 10% match obligation that the YMCA has agreed to cover.

Juvenile Accountability Block Grant Program for the purpose of continuing the "Jump Start"
Juvenile Diversion Program, and supporting the Police Athletic League.
