This Order would authorize the acquisition of the property at 10, 12 and 14 Union Place designated! as
Lots 40 and 40A on City Assessors Map 33 Win the Community and Economic Development Committee
approving offering prices based on an appraisal of the market value of the property.
1. The Community and Economic Development Committee would be authorized to approve offers to the
property owner, the offering amount would be based on the appraised value.
2. If the owners of the property accept the offers, the Director of Community and Economic
Ilevelopment would be authorized to acquire the property on behalf of the City.
Disposition and reuse, or demolition, of the Properties Involved would require approval of the Community
and Economic DevelopmentCommittee. If the property owners involved should choose n0t M accept the
City's offer to purchase, no further action would be taken to acquire the property without future City
Council authorization. Costs related to the acquisition and future disposition of the properties involved
would be funded through the City's federally funded Community Development Program.

(TITLE.) Order, Authorizing Actions Pursuant to Revitalization Plan for the Union Place
Nelghborlmod Conservation Project -Acquisition of 10, 12 and 14 Union
Place
WHEREAS, the Ory Council by passage of Coundl Order 99-266 on July 26, 1999
adopted the Community Development Program Revitalization Ran for the Union Place
Neighborhood Conservation Project; and
WHEREAS, said Plan provides for the acquisition of properties in the project area which
do not meet code standards, clearance of properties for which rehabilitation is not appropriate,
and acquisition and rehabilitation of properties where feasible or desreble to meet community
goals;
NOW THEREFORE, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CRY OF BANGOR, BE U ORDERED
THAT the following actions are authorized reladve to 10, 12 and 14 Union Place designated as
Lots 40 and 40A on City Assessor's Map 33:
1. The Director of Community and Economic Development Is hereby authorized to have these
properties appraised by an independent, qualifierl, licensed real estate appraiser, and to
have the appraisals reviewed by a qualiued review appraiser.
2. The Community and Economic Development Committee B hereby authorized to approve
offers to the owners of the above listed properdes, die offering amount on be based on the
appraised value.
3. If the offers are accepted by the owners of the property Involved, the Director of
Community and Economic Development is hereby authorized to acquire the property
through the Citys Community Development Program An behalf of the City.
4. The Community and Economic Development Committee is hereby authorized to approve the
disposition, reuse, or demolition of the properties involved, if acquired by the City, to
include such Mons as demolition and clearance, resale for rehabilitation and reuse, or
resale for redevelopment.
BE 1T FURTHER ORDERED that if the property owners involved should choose not W accept
the City's offer W purchase, no further action will be taken to acquire the property vrithaut
future City Council autlwnzation.
