Responsible Department: City Council Commentary: By Charter, the City Council meets In regular session on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. When such a day falls on a holiday, the meeting automatically is rescheduled for the following Wednesday. In October, the second Monday is a holiday, moving the meeting to Wednesday October 1r. That is the first day of the Maine Municipal Association annual convention in Bangor, and members of the Council and City staff have been invited to participate in a variety of acti ides that evening which would conflict with a Council meeting. The Charter also provides for the data of the meeting to be adjusted by action of the Council at the meeting preceeding the meeting whose date/time is changed. To avoid the conflicts on the le of October, this Order would schedule the meeting for Tuesday the 15". Department Head Manager's Comments: This order appears for first reading at this time to provide advance notice W Councilors, staff, and members of the public of our intention to reschedule the first meeting in October to Tuesday, October 15th.
