HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-09-09 02-343 RESOLVEItem No 02-363 Date: September9,2002 Item/Subject: RESOLVE - Accepting & Appropriating a Homeless Continuum of Care grant from HUD Responsible Department: Health & Welfare The Ory has applied for funding for several homeless programs under the HUD "Homeless Continuum of Care Super NOW (Notice Of Funding Awnlablliry). The applications have included a number of different program requests. One of the awards, addressed by this resolve, is funding for one year to create additional units within the CiWs ourrent Shelter Plus Care project. Shaker Plus Care, a federally funded program, began in October 1995 and supports the housing needs of individuals with serious mental illness, chronic substance abuse or HIV. The award of $245,640 will provide the necessary funding for an additional 11 units within the program. The attached Resolve will also accept and appropriate additional Shelter Plus Care (SPC) funds, which will be used to expand the current project. The award of $259,200 will be used to provide SPC housing to youth who are aging out of foster care and other children's seMces for one year.
