Members of the Bangor Police Department who were assigned to the Maine Drug Enforoament
Agent (MO ) developed the information that led m this seizure. A subsequent Investigation In 1999
led N one arrest of Patrick Hughes who was later convicted of Trafficking in Heroin.
Prosecutors In Ne case filed for mrfelture an an amount of cash that was selud man the
defendant. The $1,230 represents Bangols share of forfeited assets in this ase.

NOW COMBS the City of Bangor, Maine, by and through its legislative body, the
Bangor City Council, and does hereby grant approval pursuant to 15 MR-S.A. § 5824(3)
& §5826(6) to the transfer of the above motioned Defendant m Rem, or any portion
thereof, on the grounds that the City of Bangor Police Department did make a
substantial contribution to theinvestigation of this of a related criminal case.
WHEREFORE, the Bangor, Maine City Council does hereby approve of the
transfer of the Defendant in Rem, or any portion thereof, pursuant to 15 M.R.SA. §
5824(3) & §5826(6) by vote of the Bangor City Coundl on or about July 8, 2002.
