Item/Subject Order, Directing that the City of Bangor Continue to Operate a Public Safety
Dispatch Center
Responsible Department: City Council
Commentary
The attached order would direct that the City of Bangor cormnue to operate its own dispatch center
and that staff include the cost of this in the a" proposed FV03 operating budget. Shouldthe
Council adopt this order, it would be on the basis that such a city operatetl center is in the best
interests of the community while recognizing that the City will also be obligated to pay for a potion
of the regional dispatch center, even though the Clty will not be using these services.
