Rem/Subject: RESOLVE -Making an Appropriation for a Snowblower From the Pooled
Equipment Reserve
Responsible Department: Motor Pool
Commentary:
As you may be aware, the City recently lost Me engine In our 1978 Sno-go snowblower. The snowblower
is an attachment to the City's fmntend loaders Mat is vital to the snow removal process that takes place
periodically throughout the winter months. Staff was able to locate a used motor to enable continued
operation of this piece of equipment, unfortunately, the engine manufacturer is no longer in business and
therefore, components are not available. Hence, the City would like to proceed with the purchase of a
new snowblower to ensure continuity within the snow removal process. Staff believes the amount
expected! on Me replacement motor will be recouped via a made -in on the purchase of a new unit.
