Commentary: udlbr negotiations with approximately 19 unionlaad Passenger Service Agents and Security
Screeners at BIA have assured in a tentative agreement between the Negotiating Committees. Thh thee -year
agreement follows the Jure 30, 2001 expiration of the most recent three-year rnnnact beRreen the parties.
Major points of significance include: cost of IWing Increases of 2% year one, 3% year two, and 3% year three;
agreement to meet and discuss adjustnents W Security Screener wages should the Nrport receive atltlRional
federal funds specifically for that purpose; adoption of an eamud rime o0 concept Wr part-time employees in the
bargaining unit and other Muds housekeeping changes.
The members of the bargaining unit have ratified the proposed agreement reached by their bargaining committee.
The proposed contract a whin the bargaining guidelines prevbusly established by the City Council, and it is now
neatly for consideration. The agreement is presented with the recommeMatiou of the Management Negodatbn
Committee (Harry Courtois, Rebecca Hupp, and Heldl Sulehikl), and I concur as well.
Finally, I would note that ratirxadon of this contract will conclude work on all eight of the Union Contracts which
expired on June 3ru of this year. I would like W express any appreciation W our labor Relations 0hficer Harry
Cour[ols specifically and W all of our management representatives who assisted Harry over these past"months.
This arcs[ reran round of regional was very productive and all partidpetirg PNeg%olltep Ellige [o
