Item/Subject: ORDER, Authorizing Execution of an Option and Development Agreement for the Sale
of a Portion of ` - , . Map R41 Lot 038 Penquis C.A.P., INC

Commentary: This Order will authorize an Option and Development Agreement between the City of
Bangor and Penquis C.A.P., INC for a portion property located near the corner of Grandview Avenue,
Map -Lot (R41-038). Penquis C.A.P., INC has requested to purchase a portion of a surplus City -owned
property to facilitate a 35 -unit housing development. The site was selected based on its access and
proximity to public services such as schools, shopping and public transit. Staff recommends that the
proceeds from the sale of this property be used for Broadway Corridor Improvements.
This was item was reviewed and approved by the Business and Economic Development Committee on
March 21, 2017.

(TITLE.) ORDER, Authorizing Execution of Option and Development Agreement for the Sale of
a Portion of Map R41 Lot 038 to Penquis C.A.P., INC
WHEREAS, the City of Bangor, Maine is the owner of land located at the corner of
Grandview Ave and Hillside Ave in Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maine; and
WHEREAS, Penquis C.A.P., INC, wishes to acquire the land to incorportate into a
housing development project in the immediate area; and
WHEREAS, the City and Penquis C.A.P., INC have negotiated terms under which the land
can be sold to Penquis C.A.P., INC.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE C17Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BANGOR,
That Catherine M. Conlow, City Manager, is hereby authorized on behalf of the City of Bangor to
execute an option and development agreement to sell a portion of Map R41 Lot 038 described
in the attached exhibits for the price of $14,000 with proceeds used to fund Broadway Corridor
Improvements. Said agreement shall be in final form as approved by the City Solicitor or
Assistant City Solicitor.
