HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-03-27 17-108 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 17-108 Date: March 27, 2017 Item/Subject: Order, Authorizing Execution of Municipal Quitclaim Deed — Real Estate Located at 4 Union Plaza (Map 042 Lot 065) Responsible Department: Legal Commentary: In the 1990's real estate tax liens matured on the property located at 4 Union Plaza, currently owned by Baltimore Waterfront Associates. At some point the taxes were paid but discharges of the liens were never recorded. Therefore a municipal quitclaim is required to clear title to the property. There are no outstanding sewer charges or code issues. Staff recommends approval. Cyr, Finance Director, is hereby authorized and directed, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute a Municipal Quitclaim Deed releasing any interest the City may have by virtue of undischarged real estate tax liens recorded in the Penobscot County Registry of Deeds in Book 5003, Page 96 and Book 5003, Page 97.
