Section 8 Natural Gas Valve Identifkstion Sign Responsible Department Fire Commentary: This Ordinance amendment will add a new section W the Fuel Gas Ordinance requiring shut-off valve signage for natural gas installations in commercial, industrial, multi -family, and residential structures. The signage provides increased safety for public safety oi0cials and others who may, need m wodc on or repair natural gas installation by identifying the location of the natural gas meter and shut-off valve. Property owners will be responsible for mounting, maintaining, and preventing destruction of any identification signage. Signs will be available for purchase through the Code Enforcement Office. This program Is similar to the wood truss system notficaton program that is currently, required! by City Ordinance.
