HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-05-12 03-155 ORDERItem No. 03-155 Date: 04-02-03 Item/Subject Order, Authorizing the City Manager to apply for up to $50,000 in funds as part of the Homeland Security Overtime Program Responsible Department: Police I recently learned that the Bangor Police Department has Me opportunity to apply for up to $50,000 in overtime funds as part of the U.S. Department of Justice Homeland Security Overtime Program (HSOP) HSOP grants can be used to pay officer overtime during homeland security training sessions and other law enforcement adinaties designed to assist in the prevention of termdsm and other violent or drug related crimes. These overtime funds may also be used to pay overtime to officers who are filling vacancies created by offiters who have been placed on active military duty. Federal funds maybe requested for up to 75 percent of Me total requested additanal overtme casts, with a minimum 25 percent local cash match.
