aretwofold: 1) the CIN to grandpermits to move equipmenrt which exceeds legal limits on ClyStreet (which
is routinely done) and 2) the Contractor may be required to post a bond of up to $9,000 per traveled mile
of City streets to cover possible damage.
We have executetl similar agreements on a number of pravlous MDOT projects. Execution of the
Agreement is recommended. A copy is attached.

THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute Agreements
with the Maine Department of Tmnspodabon regarding special construction
provisions for transportation of construction equipment and materlals in conjuncton
with the following projects: Project No. STP -1002(200)X - Maine Avenue,
beginning at Hammond Street and extending northerly 1.17 MI to Union Street;
Project No. STP-A003(000)X - Harlow Sheet, beginning at State Street and
extending northerly 0.43 MI W Kenduskeag Avenue; Project No. SIP -1058(700)% -
Broadway (Route 15), beginning at State Street and extending northerly 0.54 MI
skipping 0.45 MI from Somerset Street to North Park Street; Project No. SfP-
1058(800)X - Route 15, beginning .10 MI northerly of Kenduskeag Avenue

The undersigned Municipal Officers of the City of Bangor agree that a permit will be
issued to the Contractor for the purpose of hauling loads in excess of the limits specified
in Title 29, MR.S.A. on Municipal roads as described in the "Construction Area" and
that single move permits will be issued for moving Contractor's construction equipment
used on the project which exceeds the legal limits (backhoes, bulldozers, etc.) to sources
of construction materials over municipal ways reasonably within the area of the project.
In the event that it is necessary to transport gravel, borrow or other construction material.
in legally registered vehicles carrying legal loads ova municipal ways, a Contractor's
Bond of not more than Nine Thousand Dollars ($9,000.00) per kilometer of traveled
length may be required by the municipality; the exact amount of said bond to be
determined prior m use of my municipal way.
The maximum speed limit for trucks on any municipal way will be forty (40) km per
hour unless a higher legal limit is specifically agreed upon, in writing, by the Municipal
officers. -
