Item/Subject: ORDER, Authorising City Manager to Eon ds Dead to Richard and Christine
Dunham -- Lois Street
Responsible Department: Legal
Commentary:
EffectNe September 29, 1997 "paper streets", never formally accepted by a municipality and that were
not constructed or not used vete deemed vacated unless a municipality took affirmative steps W
preserve the street. Lois Street is just such a paper street and the City, having no need for the Street, did
not lake steps to preserve it Lois Street is off Westland Street.
When a street is vacated or discontinued abutters, as a general rule, acquire ownership to the centerline
of the street. Mr, and Mrs. Dunham have requested a used from the City releasing any interest it may
have In the vacated portion of Lois Street that abuts their property. '
