Responsible Department: Airport Commentary: This Resolve expresses the City's opposition to the pre -clearance of Canadian passengers Wrong Halifax International Airport for entrance Into the United States. BIA has been and continues to be a natural port of entry providing federal Inspection services, Customs and Immigration services. Allowing Halifax International Airport to obtain Federal pre -clearance authority vrould place them in direct competition with BIA potentially having a negative Impact W Bangor's operations and financial success. The. Resolve also authorizes staff to use available resources to oppose this effort by Halifax International Airport.
