ORDER- Authorizing City Manager to Execute a Deed Amendment with U.S. Department of HHS for Park Woods Responsible Department: Community & Economic Development Commentary: In November of 1994 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services transferretl the the to 60 units of housing at the mmer of Griffin Road and Union Street to the City by Quitclaim Deed. That deed contained requirements for an outdated process for controlling lead based paint hazards at the facility. ilwse requirements would have been extremely expensive, and current research indicates could even be dangerous to the occupants. The negotiated amendment to the deed Includes the standard HUD approach to interim control of lead based paint hazards. Effectively, we will be required to control lead based paint hazaMs, Intact lead based paint can remain. This item has been reviewed and approved by the Business and Economic Development Committee.
