Bangor Museum and Center for History (BMCH). The agreement establishes benchmarks for the BMCH in consideration of City funding to include such items as: installation of security, lighting and display cases, initiation of cooperative przects with other similar downtown organizabons, length of stay and hours of operation at new location. Order, Authorizing Agreement with the Bangor Historical Society tl/b/a Bangor Museum and Center for History WHEREAS, the Ory has enmuraged cultural organizations to locate in Downtown Bangor; and WHERE& the BMCH has opened a %ality A 6 Rate Street in Downtown Bangor to provide accessible programming for residents and visitors; and WHEREAS, the presense of a Quality History Museum in Downtown Bangor is estimated to athad 10,000 visitors annually and will assist the City in meaning its long-term goals for downtown, and WHEREAS, such a facility will also serve to enhance the crdol mass of cultural organizations downtown and will enhance synergy, collaboradon, and leveraging of assets amongst organizations; and WHEREAS, to attract tlonations and bans of historic adifads, and to preserve these already in its collection, the BMCH mud provide a secure, environmentally controlled atmosphere; and WHEREAS, the Ory recognhes that Its financial support is necessary to accomplish this goal. a NOW, THEREFORE, BE R ORDERED BY THE CITY COUIN I. On or before June 1,2003, the Barger Museum shag install a security system, lighting system, and display cases at 6 Smit Street 2. On or before December 1, 2003, the Bangor Museum will initiate a cooperative project with am or more of the other arWoultiuel organizations located in or near downtown (for example Maine Discovery Museum). 3.
