The plan provides elected officials, emergency responders, outside agencies and members of the public with information and general guidance necessary during either a large-scale Incident or when multiple agencies are involved. Having an adopted plan is also a requirement for certain federal grant opportunities. _ The plan has been circulated to Council recently, and thus, is not being redistributec, given it length This was reviewed and recommended for approval by the Government Operations Committee at as September 28a meeting. Cammuk, Fire OMaf MEMORANDUM Date: September 21, 2004 To: Honorable Chair and Members of the City Council From: Jeffrey Cammack, Fire Chief Re: "Comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan" Attached to this memo is the proposed "Comprehensive and Emergency Operations Plan" for the City of Bangor. This plan has been distributed and reviewed by department heads and division directors city wide. The Emergency Operations Plan for the City of Bangor has been developed to provide elected officials, emergency responders, outside agencies and organizations and members of the public basic overview of our Emergency Response Program. The Plan wnmms general guidance for the response personnel including suggested policies, procedures and the assignment ofthe responsibilities that may be used to augment the individual departments an/or agencies operational guidelines. The purpose of the Emergency Operations Plan is to provide information and general guidance that would be useful in achieving the overall cooperation and coordination during incidents involving multiple agencies m incidents that exceed the scope of the day to day operations.
