Agreement between the City of Bangor and the Federation of Public Employees,
NNEC, AFT, AFL-CIO, Fleet Maintenance Employees

Commentary: Labor negotiations with 13 criticized! employees at our Fleet Maintenance Facility have
resulted In a Tentatve Agreement between the negotiating committees. This agreement follows the June
30,20M expiration of the most recent three-year agreement between the parties. Major points of
significance include: a 3y ar temp; cost -of -living adjustments of 2.5%year one, 2% year two and 2%
year three; an annual tool allowance of $100 fer mechanics; a provision to accumulate compensatory
time in -lieu of paid overtime; a revision to the vacation accumulation schedule, and various other
housekeeping changes.
The Feet Maintenance Union has recently ratfied the Tentative Agreement The Proposal is within
established Ory Council bargaining guidelines, and it is now neatly for your formal consideration and
action. The agreement is presented with the recommendation of the Management Negotiation
Committee (Harry Couriers and Bob Dawes) antl I concur as well. This has been reviewed by the Council
In Executive Session on August Jr.

bargaining agreement between the City of Bangor and the Federation of Public
Employees, NNEC, AFT, AFL-CIO, representing certain employees at Fleet Maintenance,
for a term of three years commencing July 1, 2004 and expiring June 30, 2002.
