Responsible Department Legal Commentary: The City of Bangor discontinued the northerly extension of French Street on October 10, 2003, by Council Order 03-316, because St. Joseph's Hospital acquired the properties it served end requested its discontinuance. A small triangle -shaped portion of the former street abuts property located at 375 Center Street, owned by Andrew & Helen McKinnon. When this portion of French Street was discontinued, the triangle reverted to the McKinnon' ownership; consequently, the McKinnon request a quitclaim deed to this triangle for recording at the Registry of Deeds. The Finance Committee recommended approval of this request at its August 2, 2004, meeting.
