Item/Subject Order, Authorizing City Manager to Execute Quitclaim need to Andrew&Helen
McKinnon for a Discontinued Portion of French Street.
Responsible Department Legal
Commentary:
The City of Bangor discontinued the northerly extension of French Street on October
10, 2003, by Council Order 03-316, because St. Joseph's Hospital acquired the
properties it served end requested its discontinuance. A small triangle -shaped portion
of the former street abuts property located at 375 Center Street, owned by Andrew &
Helen McKinnon. When this portion of French Street was discontinued, the triangle
reverted to the McKinnon' ownership; consequently, the McKinnon request a
quitclaim deed to this triangle for recording at the Registry of Deeds.
The Finance Committee recommended approval of this request at its August 2, 2004,
meeting.
