When I started this quest several months ago I was made aware that the State Police were looking to buy a mobile command post. Lt. Bill Snedikeq who is dar Services Lieutenant, did a apportions amount ofreseamh on various companies who make vehicles for the government. He found that LDV have recently partnered up with Pierce. Pierce is the maker of most fire trucks iv dte wuvtry. Hefomdthat Nurearemmywmparieswhabavejumpdonthe Homeland Security bandwagon by coming rarnprrs into mobile command vehicles. These types ofveldcles that others manufacture will not fit ourneeds. I have also heard that some companies have turned out an inconsistent product. With the meant of money at stake, the product needs to be top quality. I can also involved in the planning and purchase of four mobile command posts that Will be utilized throughout the state in the event ofany major critical incident. imentionthis as Brace Fitzgerald of MEMA is heading up the committee to plan and purchase these vehicles and I have been present wben the vendors have Presented their vehicles. Fitzgerald and the others on the board were extremely impressed with LDV and are attempting to sole source the vehicles through state purchasing or the 1122 program.
