Members of Me Bangor Police Department who were assigned to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency
(MDEA) developed the Information Mat led M Mis seizure. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of
Brandon Dessler of Mandl Street, Bangor, who was charged with Aggravated Tafficldng in Marijuana
(Class C felony) and possession of cocaine (Class D misdemeanor). The handgun in question was seized
at the some time as Me currency.
Prosecutors In Me case Flied for forfeiture of Me handgun and an amount of ash that was seized from
Me defendant. The Bangor Police Department may be entitled to all or a potion of Me value in forfeited
assets.

THAT the City Manager be authomed to accept a .50 Caliber Desert Eagle Handgun, Serial
#32209698 and $2,385.00 in U.S. Cumency, or a portion of the value thereof, as.a result of a
State Criminal Forfeiture and deposit R in the State Forfeiture Account (60020303050).

THAT the City Clerk is authorized to execute the attached Approval of Transfer.

NOW COMES the City of Bangor, Maine, by and through its legislative body, the
Bangor City Council, and does hereby grant approval pursuant to 15 M.R.S.A. § 5824(3) & §
5826(6) to the transfer the above captioned Defeadam(s) in Rem #1, namely, Two numeral
Three Hundred Eighty -Five dollars ($2.385.00) U.S. Currency and Defendants) in Rem g2,
namely, One (T.50 Cal. Desert Eagle Handgun, Serial Number 32204698, on the grounds that
the City of Bangor Police Department did make a substantial contribution to the investigation of
this or a related criminal case.
WHEREFORE, the Bangor, Maine City Council does hereby approve of the transfer of
the Defendam(s) in Rem #1, namely, Two Thousand, Three Hundred Eighty -Five dollars
($2.385.00) U.S. Currency and Defendant(s) w Rem 42, namely, One (1).50 Cal. Desert Eagle
Handgun, Serial Number 32204698, pursuant to 15 MR. SA. § 5824(3) & § 5826(6) by vote of
the Bangor City Council on or about
