Item/Subject RESOLVE, Accepting and Appropriating a Donation of $25,000 from LL. Bean for
Improvements to the Kenduskeag Stream Trail, Including Me Placement of Interpretive Signs
Responsible Department: Community and Economic Development
Commentary: Prior M the grand opening of Meir contact center on Maine Avenue, LL. Bean contacted
the City to discuss how Bangor would want to use a $25,000 gift from LL Bean for the improvement of
an outdoor trail. Bangor proposed installing a system of interpretive signs that will leverage other
activities already planned for the Kenduskeag Stream Trail, including improving Me portion of the
Kenduskeag Stream Trail that forms a park on lower Harlow Street and developing addi sinal organized
special events to be held along the Kenduskeag Stream Trail.
By profiding funding for the sign system, L.L. Bean would protide a major enhancement and the finishing
touches to a trail project that began in 1976.
The year of the 3e anniversary of the trail will be an excellent time to launch new activities in
celebration of this community asset and to acknowledge a major gift from L.L. Bean.
