Responsible Department: Health & Welfare Commentary: The program Manager for General Assistance for the State of Maine Health & Welfare Services notified the Director of Health & Welfare that the maximums changed on 10/01/05 and requested all welfare departments to adopt the new maximums. Effective date October 24, 2005 Department Head Managees Comments: This is our annual update to the benefit levels provided through the State mandated General Assistance program. AI communities are required to adjust their ordnance provisions to conform to State requirements. The changes represent relatively minor adjustments from ihisyea/sl fassiyanCa. When fuels such as woad, coal and/or natural gas are used for heating purposes, they will be budgeted at actual rates, if they are reasonable. No eligible applicant shall be considered to need more than 7 tons of coal per year, 8 cords of wood per year, 126,000 cubit feet of natural gas per year, or 1000 gallons of propane.
