The grant funds were available to all cities and towns in Maine as pan of the Pascal Year 2003 State Homeland Secudty, Grant Program, which was funded by the Department of Homeland Security, Office for Domestic Preparedness. The award, follow-up, and oversight agency for this grant program is the Maine Emergency Management Agency The Citys application included funding In purchase the following equipment: generators, an a#nation package, haz-mat monitors, equipment for command track, survivability and Interoperabiity, equipment, training and training equipment, fiber optic scope and lacteal medic gear The intent of the funding is to improve preparedness for and response m Homeland Security related event. The funding far the purchases is 100% federal with an required local match.
