Council Omer 05-85 Accepted the Recommendations of Me Personnel Committee and Appointed
Its Nominees to Vanous Boards, Commissions, and Committees. A vacancy has since
O red on the Commission for Cultural Development with the resignation of Mark Tones. A
i replacement for Mr. Torres has been recommended by the remaining members of the Cultural
Commission. This appointment will be reviewed in a brief executive session poor m Monday's meeting.
The attached order would make this appointment, subject to an amendment to insert the name of the
individual to be appointed.

Cultural Development and Malting an Appointment to fill Mr. Torres' Unexpired tam.
WHEREAS, the CM of Bangor had appointed Mark Torres to the Commission for
Cultural Development on February 14, 2005; and
WHEREAS, it is a requirement that Commissioners either work or live in the City
of Bangor; and
WHEREAS, Mark Torres has submitted his resignation from the Commission
because he no longer meets the work or residency requirement; and
WHEREAS, the resignation of Mark Torres creates a vacancy on the Commission
for Cultural Development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE Lf ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BANGOR THAT be appointed to the Commission for Cultural
Development, with a term to expire in 2006.
