On May 11, 1970, the City discontinued a right-of-way located in Bangor Gardens subject
to an easement for sewer lines; the right-of-way was divided between the two abutting
lots- lots 34 and 36 on tax assessor's map R-42.
The current owners of lot 34 (131 Thornton Roads request that the City issue a quitcla'un
deed to this parcel to create a recordable instrument reflecdng the discontinuance,
subject W the existing sewer easement.
The Finance Committee recommended approval at its February 23, 2005, meeting.

(MLE,) ORDER, Authodzing the Finance Director to Issue a Quitclaim Deed W Frederick
Sawtelle for a Portion of a Discontinued Right -of -Way, 131 Thornton Road.
ORDERED, THAT
Deborah A. Cyr, Finance Director, is hereby authorized to execution a quitclaim
deed to Fredenck & Susan Sawtelle, the owners of 131 Thomtan Street, to one-half of a right-
of-way that was discontinued by the Bangor City Council on September 11, 1970 in Council
Order 163-X, for the purpose of creating a recordable instrument to reflect the discontinuance,
excepting and reserving all rights of th City of Bangor to operate and maintain sewer lines
under said lot.

The CITY OF. BANGOR, a municipal corporation located in Penobscot County,
Maine, as Grantor, for consideration paid, releases to FREDERICK R. SAWTELLE and
SUSAN C. SAWTELLE, both of Danger, Penobscot County, Maine, as Grantees, a certain
portion of a lot or parcel of land, situated in the City of Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine,
more particularly described as follows:
The westerly one-thrtd of 131 Thornton Street, Bangor, also known as Lot
34 on Bangor Tax Assessor's Map R-42; approximately 30 feet in oadth;
Excepting and reserving au rights of the City of Bangor to operate and
maintain sewer lines presently existing under said lot;
Said parcel is the same as one-half of a right-of-way that was formerly
knovm as lot 35, and that was abandoned by the City of Bangor on May 11,
1970, in Council Order 163-x. The purpose of this quitclaim is to create a
recordable instrument W reflect the abandonment.
The said CITY OF BANGOR has caused this instrument to be sealed with its
corporate seal, and signed in its corporate name by DEBORAH A. CYR, Finance Director,
thereunto duly authorized, this day of , 2005.
