HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-01-24 05-68 RESOLVEItem No. 05-68 Date: 2-14-05 Item/Subject: Resolve, Accepting &Appropriating Grant Funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development- Project Based Rental Assistance Responsible Department: Health & Welfare commemary: Annually the City applies for funding for several homeless programs under the Department of Housing and urban Development's Homeless Continuum of Care. The accompanying resolve will appropriate funds for the City's Shelter Plus Care program, which won initial funding from the federal government In 1993. The Shelter Hos Care program is used to provide subsidized rents for qualified homeless individuals with a primary diagnosis of mental Illness, substance abuse, or HIV related illness who are receiving support services. The project based rental assistance piece of the program supports the housing needs of the residents at Acadia Recovery. The amount of the grant is $57,408 for a one-year period. Resolve, Accepting & Appropriating Grant Funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development— Project Based Rental Assistance WHEREAS, the City received a one-year renewal for project based rental assistance in the amount of $57,408; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR that grant funds in the amount of $57,408 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urtan Development are hereby accepted and appropriated.
