Item/Subject RESOLVES, Adopting the Fiscal Year 2005 School Department Budget
Respensible Department School Department
Commentary:
The following five resolutions will adopt the FY05 School Department Budget. They are as follows:
1. Resolve required by Title 20-A MRSA for the General Fund Budget of $34,921,700.
2. Resolve required by Title 20-A MRSA for the Vocational Education Region #4 opemmng budget of
$2,299,026 (Bangor§ assessment will he $411,009 and is included in the Department's budget) and
Adult Education Budget of $185,393 (Bangor's share is $8,221).
3. Resolve approving the School Department's F rpdse Fund Budget of $1,762,600. This covers Adult
Education, Food Service, and Reading Assessment Programs.
4. Resolve approving the School Department's Special Revenue Fund Budget of $2,325,067. These are
various gent programs.
5. Resolve approving the School Department's Trust and Agency Budget of $1,911,846.

(TITLE.) Resolve, Education Appropriation, Bangor School Department, Pursuant to
Title 20-A, Chapter 606,16601-15619, Maine Revised Statutes Annotated
By the city Council of the otyofBangor
RESOLVED, that the sum of $11,293,438 be appropriated for the State's share of
foundation allocation for school purposes for the year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June
30,2005.
RESOLVED, that the City of Bangor will miss and appropriate as the local share of Me
foundation allocation the sum of $13,694,141 for the year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending
June 30, 2005 under the provision of 20-A MRSA 15614.
RESOLVED, that the City of Bangor will false and appropriate $512,964 as the local share of
debt service for the year beginning July 1;.2004 and ending June 30, 2005.
RESOLVED, that the City of Bangor will mise and appropriate $6,377,875 as additional local
funds under the program of 20-A MRSA 15614.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $237,608 be mixed and appropriated for the local share of adult
education for the year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June 30, 2005.
RESOLVED, to authorize the School Committee to expend, for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
2004 and ending June 30, 2005 for the state -local allocation, unexpended balances, tuition
receipts, local appropriation, state subsidy, and other receipts for the support of schools
($256,674, from the State share of debt service, $1,94g,000 from tuition, rental, and other local
receipts, and $600,000 from 2003-2004 surplus) the sum of $34,921,700.
State of Fact: The purpose of this action is to comply with the State's requirement for local
legislation body votes appropriating funds for education per Title 20-A, Chapter 606, 15601-
15619.

By the City Cwwl of the City of Bangor.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $11,293,438 be appropriated for the State's share of
foundation allocation for school purposes for the year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June
30, 2005. -
RESOLVED, that the City of Bangor will mise and appropriate as the local share of the
foundation allocation the sum of $13,694,141 for the year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending
June 30, 2005 underthe provision of 20-A MRSA 15614.
RESOLVED, that the City of Bangor will raise and appropriate $512,964 as the local share of
debt service for the year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June 30, 2005.
RESOLVED, that the City of Bangor will raise and appropriate $6,202,875 as additional local
funds under the program of 20-A MRSA 15614.
RESOLVED, that the sum of $237,608 be raised and appropriated for the local share of adult
education for the year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June 30, 2005.

RE50LVED, that the United Technologies Center Region #4 budget for 2004-2005 as
approved by the Cooperative Board be approved in the amount of $2,299,026.00 (Bangors
2004-2005 assessment will be $411,009,.00 for operating costs. This amount is included in the
Bangor School Department's 2004-2005 budget.
RESOLVED, that the United Technologies Center Region #4 budget for Adult Education for
2004-2005 as approved by the Cooperative Board be approved in the amount of $185,393.00
(Bangors 20042005 assessment for Adult Education will be $8,221,00. This amount is
included in the Bangor School Department's 2004-2005 budget.
Statement of Fac[: The purpose of this action is to comply w9h the State's requirement for local

By the City Council oftlre City of Bangor.
RESOLVED, that the City of Bangor accept the following categories of funding as
provided by the Maine State Legislature for the year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June
30, 2005, and approve them as the Bangor School Department's Enterprise Fund Budget for
the same fiscal period. And be it further resolved that the Bangor School Department's
Enterprise Fund for the period of July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005, is hereby approved as follows
in the amount of $1,762,600,
