Johnson Associates, Inc. Responsible Department: Communitar andE Develoomen[ This Order would authorize an amendment to the City's contract for design and engineering services with Card R. Johnson Associates, Inc. The amendment would expand the scope of services M include additional design and marine engineering services and preparation of bid and construction documads for the area along the water's edge for the full length of the existing bulkhead sheet piling and to accommodate a floating dock for wise boats. The City's contract with CUA previously provided for (1) schemadc design of the entire waterfront, (2) design development of West Market Square and connection to waterfront, (3) design development of Bangor Front R. and Front St. river edge with ferry and dock design devdopment by Bourre Consulting Engineers, (4) design development and 100%bid and construction documents for Front St. and Front St Parking with structural access and design development for sheet piling upgrade by Bourne Consulting Engineers, and (5) preparation of final design, bid documents and construction administrative services for the Railroad Street corridor. These additional design and engineering services will be funded through the Community Development Block Grant Program. Order, Authorising Exacurbn dAmendment to Contract for Professional Services with Carol R. Johnson Associates, Inc. WHEREAS, the City entered Into a Contract for Professional SerOm With Card R. Johnson Associates, Inc. (herdnafter"CRIA") dated April 18, 2001; and WHEREAS, the Contract was amended to proWtle for design services related to West Market Square on August 1, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Contract was further amended Fdnuary 12, 2002 to proAde for design and engineering service for the public areas along the Penobscot Rivers edge from the area of the Chamberlain Bridge down river to the area of the end of the new sheet piling bulkhead, the land area along Front Street from the Chamberlain Bridge to the Railroad Street rail crossing, and the land area connecting downtown with the waterfront from theintersection of Bangor Alley and Broad Street to the Chambedain Bridge; and WHEREAS, the Contract was fuller amended May 14, 2002 to expand the scope of the Contract to provide for 100% design and engineering services and preparation of bidding and construction documents for Front Street and Front Street paddng ams and for additional engineering services related to the bulklreatl to be performed by Boom Consulting Engineering under a subwntract with CRIA; and WHEREAS, the Contras was fuller amended July 2, 2002 to further expand the scope of the Contract to provide for 100% design and engineering services and preparation of bidding and construction documents for he Railroad Street corridor; and WHEREAS, the parties; wish on (umber expandthe scope of the Contract to pmNde for design and marine engineering services and preparation of bidding and construction documents for Design through Construction of the Waters Edge area along the full length of the existing bulkhead sheet puling; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, THAT he City Manager, is hereby auhorzed, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to exeome an amendment to the Contract for Professional Services with the consulting firm of CRJA accepting As "Proposal for Professional Services: Design through Construction of the Waters Edge Project" dated of March 24, 2004, and in a final form approved by the City Solicitor or Assistant City Solicitor.
