Dennis Paper and Foodservice has requested thaRhie City dikontinue the section of Thatcher Street from
its intersection with Perry Road to the dead end in front of the building on Thatcher Street. The other
abutting business has a front door for customer entry on Perry Road with warehouse access on Thatcher
Street.
Should this portion be discontinued, the landowners on both sides of the dead end section will be responsible
for maintenance and utilities. An easement will be granted to the City for the water line.
The attached order begins the discontinuance process as required by M.R.S.A. Ttle 23, 43026. Notice will
he given to all abutters and a public hearing will be conducted prior to returning this issue to the Council for
final action.

CITY OF BANGOR
(TITLE.) Order, Authorizing Discontinuance of a Portion of Thatcher Street
Northwesterly of Perry Road
WHEREAS, a porton of Thatcher Street extends northerly from Perry Road to the
easterly side of the Dennis Paper and Foodservice business; and
WHEREAS, this dead end porton of Thatcher Street provides rear access to only one
other commercial property; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Paper and Foodservice has requested that this portion of Thatcher
Sheet be discontinued as a public way;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE R ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CRY OF
BANGOR that the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to begin the
process of discontinuing the portion of Thatcher Street from Perry Road extending
northwatteriy in accordance with the provisions of 23 MRSA. §3026 and submit a
written report to the City Council for further action.

This letter is to confirm in writing a request that I discussed with
Mr. Steve Bolduc, planning, coding, water district and
engineering people at a May meeting this past spring in city
hall.
T am requesting that the City of Danger discontinue the section of
Thatcher St. from its intersection of Perry Road to the dead end in front
outbuilding on Thatcher.St The land owners on both sides of this
section of Thatcher St. would be responsible for its maintenance and
utilities. An easement would be granted to the city for the water line.
