Responsible Department: Cade Enforcement Over the past several years, municipalities have noticed the increased utilization of boilers heated by solid fuels, usually wood. Such boilers are constructed in out- buildings, and the heat produced is piped to the residential building. The problem with these boilers is that they produce a large amount of smoke and usually have very, short chimney, causing ground -level air pollution. In order to keep pollution away from the primary residence, people tend to place such boilers at a distance /rom the residence semen, creating problems for neighbors.i e res i r I rT 7:=.FMLIT,T Finance Director City scrilawr Introduced for Passage 3 First Reading Page_&_ Referral 06 340 Assigned to Cow<ilon Gnateock October 11, 2006 CITY OF BANGOR (TITLE.)
