Item/Subject: Resolve, Accepting and Appropriating Grants from the Federal Aviation
Administration and the State Department of Transportation for Various Capital Projects at
Bangor International Airport- Airport Improvement Program 43.
Responsible Department: Airport
Commentary: The City wishes to accept and appropriate Airport Improvement Project grant
funds available through the Federal Aviation Administration and the Maine Department of
Transportation. These funds will be used to reconstruct a remote customs clearance area,
construct an airport access drive between Utah Avenue and Polk Street and the Whiskey Ramp
Vehicle Service Road, and to update a storm water management (drainage) study at Bangor
International Airport. Federal Ponds In the amount of $2,720,264 will fund 95% of the project
cos[. The State of Maine and Airport revenues will evenly fund the remainder at 2'h%each.
These projects have been reviewed and approved by the appropriate committees and the
Council.

CITY OF BANGOR
(TITLE.) Resolve, Accepting and Appropriating Grants from the Federal Aviation Administration
and the State Department of Transportation for Various Capital Projects at Bangor International
Airport—Airport Improvement Program 43.
WHEREAS, The City's applications to the Federal Aviation Administration and the Maine
Department of Transportation for Airport Improvement Project grant funds to make
improvements to the infrastructure at Bangor Imernabo rail Airport have been
accepted and the Federal Aviation Administrathon and the State of Maine have
agreed to provide the funds; and
WHEREAS, Federal funds will cover 95% of the cost of the projects with an additional 2,5%
coming from the State of Maine and 2.5% from the Airport Revenues,
NOW, 7HEREFORE, BE ITRESOLIEO BY THE C7TYCOONCIL Of THE Cf7YOFB4N,OR 7HAT
the City Manager and/or AirW,Director are hereby authorized to accept grants from the
federal Aviation Administration and the State Department of Transportation In the amount of
$2,720,264 to Reconstruct the Remote Customs Clearance Area, to Construct an Airport Access
Drive and Whiskey Ramp Vehicle Service Road, and to Update a Storm Water Management
(Drainage) Study at Bangor Irtenational Airport under Airport Improvement Program (AIR)
Project 3-23-0005-43-2006; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT
There is hereby appropriated within the Airport Fund the amount of $2,720,264 recognizing
these state and federal grant funds to be used for these projects. The City Finance Director Is
hereby authorized to place these amounts within the appropriate amounts.
