The insert will be released this fall around the gme the new police station opens. Wer the next few weeks, BDN staff will be approaciring businesses to solicit sponsors for the Insert. They have asked tar a letter of introduction signed by the Police Chief. City policy requires a Council order approving the letter. Bangor has made great strikes to both become and be recognizetl as one of America's most imNng places to live, work, and raise a family. The Bangor Police Department has a rich history. A new chapter in that history and the gmwm of our City will begin in November when our new, staterof-the-art police headquarters will be dedicated. This fall, the Bangor Will News will produce a keepsake tabloid featuring stories on the history of the Bangor Police Department, the traditions associated wah our fanner Court Street location, and, of course, our new downtown location at Main and Cedar Streets. This supplement will appear In mid-November in all editions of the paper, and additional coples will be available to the public at no charge. It will also be placed on the popular Bangor Daily News website to insure that it will be mailable to former residents and others from may with an Interest in Bangor. The Bangor Police Department and the City of Bangor hope you will consider supporting this supplement. An advertising cost sheet stowng size commitments and deadlines is attached for your consideration. Jack Giffortl, a dozen of Bangor and an Advertising Representative of the News, is producing the supplement and will contact you in the near future. Please know that you are under no obligation W support this effort. In accordancewith our desires, Mr. Gifford will not be sharing any Information With the City or the Police Department regarding who has or has not been contacted concerning this supplement.
