The City recently received bids for the purchase of a heavy rescue vehicle. This vehide would
replace a 1978 Chevrolet delivery van that is used to respond to specialty events, such as high angle
and water rescues and cenflned space Inddents. The City had applied for and received a grant
through the Assistance to Rrefghters gram program in the amount of $198,000 which required a
$22,00 local match. These funds were previously accepted and appropriated.
When the bids were received, there were not suff dent funds available for the purchase of Ne
vehicle. The attached Resolve is one of two that will address the funding shortfall.
The attached! resolve will appropriate $22,013 from the General Fund's Rre Equipment Reserve for
the purchase of a heavy rescue vehicle.
