In addition the Maine CDC awarded the city with a groat for a health educator whose primary goal will be to expand and improve immunization rates for children in the 06 178 northern five counties. In addition the city received 25,000.00 to be used for emergency preparedness efforts. I believe it is essential that the city retain these valuable services for its residents. Public beahh has long been an mann force affecting the heald of its cifizem, in the wake of Katrina and on the verge of avian flu, the value of a strong public health system has never been greater. A system untainted by even the appearence of conflicts of interest is in our best interest and the best interest of our cifizens. J'S--
