Currently, parking on any public way is prohibited, dty-wide, between Nov 1 and Apr 1, except for specified areas. Downtown resident: and downtown residential landlords have been escalating their requests for a change in this policy. Public Works and Parking Enforcement personnel anticipate that this change will dramatically increase the number a vehides towed during and after a snowstorm. The committee believes this Mange also aligns parking policy with the City's encouragement of downtown lying spaces. Department Head The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has reviewed this recommendation. The Committee voted not to support it on a 2-1 vote based on concerns regarding impacts on snow plowing and removal downtown and the potential number of vehides that might require towing.
